Tasting Notes:
Forty85 has been under development for more than 10 years. This name is derived from the number of days that passed from this wine's harvest (08/28/2008) to it's bottling (11/05/2019); a total of 4,085 days. Quite candidly, we thought about dumping this wine at one point but ultimately decided against it. We're sure glad to have had this change of heart too because Forty85 is now considered our "Lost Gold". This combination of Late Harvest Pinot Gris and Sauvignon Blanc grapes were intended to be a white port-style wine. 12 barrels evaporated down to 6 and it provided a dessert wine with characteristics that remind you of a smooth sip of brandy or cognac along with delicious overtones of toffee, butterscotch, and caramel. A wine that tastes as unique as it's story!
